Welcome to D.A.V. College, Jalandhar

DAV College Jalandhar established in 1918 in the sacred memory of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati to impart modern knowledge along with the Vedic traditions to the youth of contemporary India. The institution has entered into the 100th year and has established itself as an academic giant with matchless service of growth and grooming of youth in this part of the country. Guided by the missionary zeal and visionary approach of its founding fathers, the college is constantly evolving, improving and updating itself to be one-up against the challenges of a swiftly changing world environment with globalization and advancements in the social, technological, economic and political landscapes. It becomes imperative for us to acquire new ways of thinking and new concepts and perceiving reality. This paradigm shift towards a new World Order compels us to ‘innovate’. For this we at DAV Jalandhar are always taking the challenges, finding opportunities and devising changes to foster developments. We believe in adjusting the existing educational systems into a system that is universal and holistic, thus making every student a ‘global’ student.

Message from Principal

My dear students, COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic crisis have surely altered lives and disrupted normal life across the world. This is a collective crisis of unprecedented magnitude and saving lives and reviving livelihoods are the current priorities of society today. There are innumerable inspiring stories of selfless workers, Corona warriors, police personnel, doctors and volunteers stepping forward to defeat the pandemic. We too must rise to meet this formidable challenge bravely and shouldn't let the pandemic pin us down. We must remain positive and keep our hope alive that very soon mankind will be able to find a way out of this difficult situation soon in near future.

I strongly recommend that you start preparing hard for your examinations because the University may announce the dates for the Examinations very soon. Therefore, you must consider as if your examinations are just round the corner.

As the world stays secured behind closed doors during COVID-19 lockdowns and self quarantine, work from home and online classes have become a norm. What we all need now is patience, optimism, resilience and firm faith in God almighty. While we stay home during this extended COVID-19 lockdown, it’s a good time to read books, expand your knowledge. Try doing something constructive and different like cooking, painting, beautifying your homes to have that much needed sense of achievement and triumph in these stressful times.

Let's not get paranoid about Coronavirus pandemic. Just follow the due precautions and take very good care of yourself and those around you. There is a strong ray of hope guiding us to find a way out of the present crisis. We will be out of these stormy waters for sure.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to unprecedented panic across the world. With no vaccine or cure immediately available, the concern over the deadly virus increases with each passing day. It is easy to get demotivated with the current global crisis which can lead to stress and anxiety but hope and positivity mustn't be lost. Keeping yourself, each other, family and friends positive during this distressing times is very important.

As you know, there already exists a COVID-19 Counseling Cell in the college to help address your academic, psychological and other concerns. You are free to contact the team Counseling Cell and if need be you are most welcome to send your questions, queries, problems or suggestions to the undersigned at my official email address: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Here are some tips to remain positive, strong and upbeat during this challenging time:

Nothing lasts forever. Not even the coronavirus. So stay strong and fight hard.

Stay home, stay safe – the only medicine found till now for coronavirus. Keep calm and help flatten the curve.

You’re braver than you believe and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think - so follow the safety guidelines and sanitization protocols to defeat Coronavirus.

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow. Stay positive, stay home, stay safe and save lives.

All the best! Stay home, stay safe. This too shall pass. God bless!

Dr. S.K. Arora
